Roberto Righetti

First part of the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai, he graduated in violin at the Conservatorio 'G.Verdi' in Turin with top marks under the guidance of Prof. Christine Anderson, winning two scholarships for the best diploma and quartet examination.

He furthered his studies in Vicenza in string quartet with Franco Rossi and at the Accademia Internazionale Superiore di Musica di Biella in the class of Corrado Romano.
A prize-winner in various national and international competitions, he carries out an intense solo and chamber music activity within the Rai Orchestra and with some of the best Italian chamber groups:
Orchestra da camera di Mantova, I Solisti di Pavia, I Cameristi della Scala, with soloists such as Pietro De Maria, Enrico Dindo, Andrea Lucchesini, Danilo Rossi, Giugliano Carmignola, Massimo Quarta, Pavel Berman, Alexander Lonquich, Shlomo Mintz, Martha Argerich, Nikolaj Znaider, playing in the most important international concert halls and festivals.

He has toured extensively in France, Switzerland, Spain, England, Germany, Austria, Greece, Czechoslovakia, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Denmark, Japan and the Americas with various television recordings, live radio broadcasts and recordings: Rai, Claves, Teldec, Decca, Bayerischen Rundfunk, VideoRadio Classics, Velut Luna.

He has played under the direction of illustrious conductors such as: Sinopoli, Prètre, Giulini, Sawallisch, Maazel, Mehta, Bychkov, Chung, Temirkanov, Gergiev, Rostropovich, Muti, Gatti, Harding, Barenboim, Petrenko, receiving particular praise.

He has been invited by prestigious Italian institutions such as, Teatro La Fenice, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino at the request of Maestro Daniele Gatti, Teatro alla Scala, I Cameristi della Scala, Filarmonica della Scala with whom he has been collaborating since 1999 as Second Violin Wingman and First Violin Concertino.

Since 2001, at the invitation of Enrico Dindo he has been a member of "I Solisti di Pavia" in the role of first part of the ensemble combined with an intense chamber music activity.

In 2002 he was invited by Gianandrea Noseda to permanently join the Stresa Festival Orchestra in the role of first part.

For the 2004 and 2005 "Rai Nuova Musica" contemporary music seasons, he performed as soloist the world premiere of "Traumerish Konzert" for violin and orchestra by A. Gagliano and Giacinto Scelsi's "Anahit" opera poem for violin and chamber orchestra at the "G. Agnelli" Auditorium of the Lingotto in Turin.

First violin in the 'Geometrie Variabili' ensemble and the '7/8 Ensemble' of the O.S.N. Rai, he has collaborated in the same role with:
Orchestra del Festival 'Gaetano Donizetti' of Bergamo, Orchestra da camera di Trento, I Cameristi della Scala.

From 2005 to 2015, he was a teacher at the "Accademia De Sono" for chamber orchestra training and first part of the "Archi" group in Turin, performing numerous concert seasons at the G.Verdi Conservatory in Turin and in Italy.

In 2008, he made his debut at the Teatro alla Scala with "I Solisti d'Europa" a string group formed mainly by first parts of the: Berliner Philharmoniker, Wiener Philharmoniker, Teatro alla Scala, O.S.N. Rai.

Within the O.S.N. of the Rai, in order to obtain more and more homogeneity and harmony in the section, in 2018 he founded a chamber group of strings only " Gli Archi O.S.N." tackling without a conductor important 20th century repertoire works and in 2021 he founded the " Frühlings Quintett " with which they carried out a project on Brahms performing the two quintets op.88 and op.111 for strings and the two sextets op.18 and op.36 at MITO September 2021 and in two editions of " I Concerti del Quirinale " on Radio Tre Rai with television coverage on Rai 5.

He plays a 'Giuseppe Rocca' violin from 1844.
